getting a medical screening

Although having a fitness regime and a general awareness of nutrition can put you in an advantageous position with your physical health, you may still have underlying medical issues that don’t show signs until it’s too late. Having an awareness of key medical health factors such as blood sugar levels, cholesterol, A1C, immune factors and allergies allow you to know if you need any immediate intervention, and together with your doctor, you can plan a path to improve certain areas that need attention.

At this stage, your health could become a life or death situation. By going to a medical professional to get basic numbers checked, you are taking the first step in owning personal responsibility of your health.

getting a movement screening

Physical ability is pursued through “exercising” what we are physically capable of doing. But before we can measure any output of specific athletic abilities, we should first analyze the structural integrity and alignment of the mechanism which would produce an output—our very own musculoskeletal system. This is an important step because we must ensure that there are no critical flaws in our alignment and functional movement patterns that would cause an injury or reduce our optimal performance.

This area of health should be treated just like any other medical issue, and should be assessed by a physical therapist, chiropractor, or other health professional who has a comfortable familiarity with every major joint of the body, the scientific planes they can move within, and their range of motion potential and deficiency levels.

__________

Have your posture, alignment and movement patterns screened by a physical therapist, chiropractor or other qualified professional.
